Teacher Trainings

When we bring our life to our asana practice, we bring our asana practice to life. Our Teacher Training program teaches you how to transform your practice and your life. If that interests you, we’d love to train with you.

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Using the framework of classical yoga as a guideline, we work together to improve your health: physically, mentally and spiritually. In addition to an in-depth education in vinyasa, alignment, philosophy and anatomy, MOSAIC’s YTT Program offers guidance and training in Leadership Development and Soulful Reflection, taking your experience much deeper than a typical yoga teacher training program.
The course content is divided into the three main subjects: Science, Philosophy and Art.  Together they create a “whole” perspective on the practice.  The heart of MOSAIC lives in each and every one of its community members. Begin your transformative journey now.

Science

Yoga’s journey to the west created a new wave of scientific interest in the ancient practice.  Throughout the course, we bridge the gap between both the eastern and western modalities, illuminating the point at which science and tradition meet.  In addition we breakdown the anatomy of over 60 individual yoga poses, their variations, and how to modify using props and hands-on adjustments.

Topics Include:

  • Anatomy (key terms)
  • Biomechanics & the human movement system
  • Types of joints
  • Physiology of stretching
  • Yogasana and the nervous system
  • Pranayama, Bandhas and energy anatomy

Philosophy

Yoga dates back more then 5,000 years.  For much of that time, the practice looked to answer the great philosophical question, “Who am I”?  Today, the history of the past gives us a detailed and sophisticated system for exploring and answering this question.  We will utilize this system to cultivate a deeper understanding of self, stabilize the mind, and gain greater insight into our thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Topics Include:

  • What is Yoga? What is its history?
  • Human development towards a spiritual life
  • The five sheaths of self
  • The four aims of life
  • The eight limb system
  • Nutrition and lifestyle
  • Yoga and the mind

Art

The art of teaching yoga comes from the skillful blending of both the science and philosophy of the practice.  Learning to “see” the entire room, make on the fly adjustments to your sequence, and be a part of the flow, rather then just teaching it, is what makes the difference between a good class and a great one.

Topics Include:

  • Principles and ethics for MOSAIC’s yoga instructors
  • Leading class vs. teaching class
  • Public speaking
  • Assisting and adjusting
  • Mastering sequencing
  • Live practice
  • Running your own yoga business

MOSAIC’s teacher training program offers you more than a simple certification as a yoga instructor. Our program takes you deeper as it’s purposefully designed to promote personal growth, inner knowing and self-examination. As a result, you not only become a better yoga instructor, but also a more evolved human being. MOSAIC’s Teacher Training is a Yoga Alliance 5-Star Rated 200hr Program.

Erin Ayres

Erin Ayres

Learn More About Erin

Erin Ayres has been a faithful practitioner of multiple forms of yoga for the past ten years. Over the previous decade, Erin has continually expanded her practice, experimenting at various points with the following styles of yoga: Hot, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Baptiste Power Vinyasa, and Yin/Restorative. In the spring of 2014, Erin began teacher training and has completed her 200–hour YTT at MOSAIC, 100-hour Hot Yoga certification, as well as a Yin/Restorative certification. As far as teaching philosophy is concerned, Erin passionately believes in the importance of creating her own dynamic sequences. All of Erin’s classes—whether Yin or Vinyasa—have a specific focus on postures that flow logically and effortlessly into one another. If your mind is overly fixated on perfectly performing a pose, then the gateway to the heart is blocked. Erin believes that the essence of yoga is to lovingly reunite us with our strayed heart.

MOSAIC Co-Founder

Learn More About Ryan

I am a co-founder of MOSAIC. What I am most devoted to is the art of leadership as a noble endeavor.

I’ve spent 15 years asking myself, “What does it take to develop leaders?”  This has led to more questions, more study, and no complete answers.  By contemplating this question, I’ve discerned a few basic principles, virtues, and practices that have led to the creation of the Theory of Sagacious Leadershipand the Light of Leadership training series.

The writings of the Warriors, Sages, Saints, and Philosophers have served as teachers, guides, and anchors as I continue to seek Truth.

Currently, I specialize in creating leadership development programs for US Special Operations Units.

Prior to MOSAIC, I served as a Captain in the US Marine Corps, a strategic manager at the Center for Creative Leadership, and a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting and KPMG Consulting.  Previous clients have been Google, Microsoft, Starbucks, T-Mobile, Yahoo, Amgen, Genentech, Deloitte, and the Department of Defense.  I also earned a M.S. in Leadership and have completed over 2,500 hours of leadership training.

I pray each of us finds our way to the truth of who we are, why we are here, and what we are here to fulfill.
